ABOUT ABOUT

Helping Hearts Council, a division of the Happy Hearts Fund, will be holding its third annual 1 NIGHT / 1 SCHOOL fundraiser. The goal of this night is to raise enough money to rebuild the Tk Nurul Akmal Kindergarten in Indonesia that was destroyed by an earthquake in 2009.

Since only a few months after the 2009 earthquake, organized intervention and philanthropic support has been absent. The longer this gap lasts before real recovery, the more trauma, pain, sadness and dysfunction take root and shape the lives of the children, families, and communities who were affected. Some of the world’s most desperate situations exist where temporary solutions became permanent, inadequate replacements for the life, culture, and community functions that were destroyed.
